Namaste. Here we publish announcements, news, and descriptions of the many activities sent to SAT by our friends at Sri Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning in Bangalore, in India. The intent is to help make available to the worldwide community of those who revere the Maharshi, news of the many excellent publications, works, and programs of the Centre. (Information here is authorized by the Centre.)
NOTE: The Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning, Bangalore, India, is a non-profit organization with the primary objective of desseminating the life and teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. Donations to Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act of India.
Central objectives include the spread of Indian culture, support of deserving students for cultural pursuits, service to the poor through free medical clinics, free library, and spiritual workshops.
The Ramana Shrine and Meditation Hall near Mekhri Circle, Bangalore, has been open since December 1982. During 1996-97, the Centenary of Enlightenment of Sri Ramana Maharshi, more than 25 publications in English are in work, and an equal number in regional languages.
Among other contributions are: Seven recorded plays on the life of Sri Ramana, in English, Tamil, and Kannada, 14 recorded ballets, 3 video cassettes, and a thirteen-episode television serial an the life and teachings of Sri Ramana, in Kannada, and soon in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and with English sub-titles, with audio-video cassettes of the episodes.
